The Minor Championship, as we have known it, is about to change next season and will now become an U17 competition. In operation since 1929 Kerry is the most successful county, winning the last four All Ireland titles, the only county, in the almost 90 year history of the competition, to accomplish that feat. In the 15 titles won by Kerry since the first victory in 1931, the Club had at least one representative on each winning team on all but one occasion (1975). Twenty seven Club players have won a total of 34 All Ireland medals. Brendan Reidy, the very first winner of a medal, is the only player to have won three (1931-1933). Five other players have won two each – Frank O’Neill and John Paul Doyle in 1931 and 1932; Henry McKinney in 1962 and 1963 and Jack Morgan in 2014 and 2015 and Ferdia O’Brien in 2015 and 2016.

To celebrate the achievements of our All Ireland Minor Winners, everyone is invited to the Clubhouse on Friday night week 27th October at 8pm where past and present winners, together with family representatives of deceased members will be honoured. It promises to be a lovely evening so we hope you will be able to attend.

** Please also note that a celebration night for this year’s Austin Stacks Minor winning team will take place on Friday November 10th when the boys will receive their Co. League 2017 Div 1 & Town League winners medals. The Tom Markham Cup (Minor Al Cup) will also be in the Club on the night. All Club members invited to come along to show their appreciation & thank the team.
