PAULINE LYNCH (nee O’CALLAGHAN)
Family, friends and acquaintances were shocked mid-week when news broke of Pauline’s sudden illness at Dublin Airport as she and her family were on the way to Anfield for the Merseyside Derby. That turned to sadness then on this Saturday morning with the sad news of her untimely death.
Pauline and her sisters (Ann, Breda and Martina) all played football with the Club. Ann, Breda and herself were all on the Co. Championship winning team in 1979 and Ann of course won five Co. Championship titles in total during her career (1977, 1979, 1982, 1989 and 1993). Two of Pauline’s brother-in-laws, Frankie Ryan (football) and Seamus Sheehan (hurling) were also great performers with the Club in their days. Sincere sympathy is offered to Pauline’s family – husband Michael, sons Gavin and Jamie, her daughter Isabelle, her sisters Ann, Martina and Breda and all her extended family and friends.
