The Austin Stacks GAA hosted their annual juvenile summer camp in Connolly Park for kids between the ages of 6 and 12. Overall 120 boys and girls took part in the camp which ran from Tuesday to Saturday. “It’s been perfect so far, we’re up in numbers this year, there’s plenty of new faces here, which is always great to see” said camp coordinator Del White. “We’re battling with a few other camps this week, but it hasn’t made any difference to us,” said Del. “Once they get going after day one, they fit into their groups and they start to really enjoy it,” she said. “The kids learn a new skill everyday, no matter what age they are” Del said “We’re starting our mini-league competition today which will run up to Saturday where they’ll get their medals and maybe a water fight if the weather is good.” The weather was good and the water fight was epic! Thanks to our Senior team Manager, Stephen Stack, and many members of the Austin Stacks Senior panel who made themselves available for the medal presentation on Saturday. KICKING DEMONSTRATION: “You just catch, turn, swerve, dummy and skilfully kick the leather into the back of the net….just like ‘The Gooch’, says The Rock Under 6 player Euan Canty as he demonstrates the finer points of the game in a serious match at the Austin Stack Club Gaelic football camp which was held last week. Euan was one of 120 lads and lassies who attended and had ‘a ball‘!!

HAPPY FOOTBALL CAMPERS: This cheerful group of Under 8 players were coached by Deirdre Ní Shé and Caitríona Ní Choileáin at the highly successful Austin Stack Club Gaelic football camp in Páirc Uí Chonghaile. DISCUSSING TACTICS AT CONNOLLY CAMP: Del de Faoite and Martin Courtney planning coaching strategies at the Austin Stack Club Gaelic football camp which was held last week in famed Páirc Uí Chonghaile. Up to 120 football enthusiasts of various ages had 5 wonderful days of sunshine, fun and games.
OIREANN CHÓITSEÁLA NA CARRAIGE: Breandán Caball and Éamonn McAllen were part of the Austin Stack Club coaching team that saw to the smooth running of the Gaelic football coaching camp which was held in Páirc Uí Chonghaile over 5 days and was attended by 120 happy, cheerful and enthusiastic youngsters.
