JUNIOR B FOOTBALL:
Rathmore 2-14; Austin Stacks 2-8.
Game 3 of this seven round Co. League played at Connolly Park on Friday evening (27th May) saw the visitors leading by 2-6 to no score inside the first twelve minutes. A lesser team would fold at that stage but our lads dug deep and in the remaining forty eight minutes outscored the opposition by 2-8 to 0-8 and could have scored more but for two super saves by the Rathmore keeper.
Two points from play by Shane O’Callaghan and a Thomas Moore goal in the 25th minute left us trailing by 2-9 to 1-2 at half time.
Shane was again on target in the second half with a super goal in the 42nd minute and three pointed frees and one from play.
Dale Counihan and corner back, Sean King (good to see Sean back again and also Des Fitzgerald) scored our other two points in this half.
Well done also to Hurler, Michael O’Leary who left Hurling training to play in the game.
