COVID 19: The COVID advisory committee of the GAA has issued updated guidance to all clubs in relation to attendance at underage games. This advice is based on the updated guidelines issued by Sport Ireland on behalf of Rialtas na hÉireann. Please note that (i) only one designated individual per child/family/group of children should attend a training session or a game, (ii) the GAA health questionnaire MUST be completed by parents/guardians before attendance at a game/session, (iii) the overall number of attenders/players should be kept to a minimum and should be in keeping with the space available at the venue/facility, (iv) parents of Under 18 players are NOT permitted to be in attendance at adult games in which their son is participating but provision can be made to allow an adult to be in close proximity (eg, in car park, etc) in case medical or other emergency needs require their presence and a parent/guardian attending an underage game in these circumstances shall not be subject to vetting (as they are only the supervisor in a guardianship role for their own child and not for any other child on the panel).

PEIL FAOI 14: (i) On Friday evening last our A team hosted Glenflesk and an exciting evening’s football ensued. Both teams played extremely well and the few spectators in attendance saw some beautiful passages of play. Our goalie and defenders were rock solid, our men ag lár na páirce ensured a plentiful supply of good ball to the forward division and our alert forwards availed of most of their fine scoring opportunities. At the final whistle our Rock stalwarts were very deserving victors. Buachaillí buacacha na Carraige: Stiofán Ó Conbhuí; Fionnán Ó Riain, Jake Ó Conchúir, Gavin Ó Cathasaigh; Paidí Ó Laighin, Pádraig Ó Cionaoith, Dónal Ó Ciarba; Lúcás Mac Gearailt, Ben Ó Murchú; Marcas Ó Loingsigh, Max Nosidlak, Séamus Ó Bradáin; Seán Heaslip, Pádraig Ó hAllmharáin, Donncha Ó hArgáin; fir ionaid…Tomás Deregee, Daithí Ó Luasaigh, Bruno Boroway, Ciarán Caomhánach, Rónán Ó Cearúill.

(ii) The U14B boys got their Division 5B campaign up and running v Knock/Brosna in Cnoc na gCaiseal on Wednesday 26th. As the A game v Glenflesk was rescheduled to Friday and with the continuing great support of our U12 panel, we were able to bring a full B panel of 21 players to Mount Caiseal. Disappointingly, Knock/Brosna required a 13-aside game and that meant reduced game time for our large panel. Very unfortunate and disappointing from our players’ and managers’ point of view! However, this week (Wednesday 1st at 6.30pm) with both U14 games (A and B) going ahead at the SAME time, the support of the U12s will be really and importantly needed for the B game (away) v Gneeveguilla. Therefore, dá bhrí sin, everyone will be required and, so, all hands required on deck, please!
After a good start in the game and with some fine scoring by Cormac Bastible, The Rock went into the halftime break with a 6 point lead. That was a wonderful lead against a team that had their very best A-standard players available! However, a strong response was expected and duly arrived with pressure increasing throughout the second half. Mar bharr an donas, our boys missed several goal chances, our lead was reeled back and we eventually lost by 4 points, though, in the final minutes and to the great credit of our brave warriors, we besieged and maintained constant pressure on the Knock/Brosna goal go dtí séideadh fada deireanach fheadóg an réiteora. Final score… Cnoc na gCaiseal/Brosnach: 2-12; AdeS: 3-5. Foireann chróga na Carraige: Leon Ó Conchúir; Séamus Ó Bradáin, Tomás Ó Conaill; Barra de Nógla, Max Nosidlak, Bao Ó Foghlú; Eldion Topalli, Fionnán Ó Riain (captaen); Jake Ó Conchúir; Cormac de Bastábla (1-5), Ryan Mac Mathúna (1-0); Stiofán Ó Conbhuí (1-0), Jerry Ó Loingsigh; ionadaithe….Conchúr Ó Gealbháin, Breandán Móinséil, Naode Deregee, Aodhán Ó hArgáin, Ruairí Ó Loingsigh, Gabriel Nosidlak, Rian Breathnach, Alex Ó Tuathaigh.
