PEIL FAOI 16: (i) The County League (Roinn 1) final will be played in Austin Stack Park THIS Wednesday (14th) at 8pm. Our opponents in the final: Killarney Legion. All support needed….’the sixteenth man’ is important! (ii) We congratulate these magnificent U16 footballers who have reached this County League (Roinn 1) final after a gruelling and truly epic encounter v Laune Rangers i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile. The final score was 3-12 to 0-19…..at the end of extra time. From the first whistle to the last we, the onlookers, were privileged to be present to see some of the best that underage football has to offer…outstanding fielding, fantastic score taking and some very physical but fair tackling. It would be difficult to single out an individual ‘star’ player in what was an outstanding team display; indeed, there were man-of-the-match displays all over the park. Our athletes were watched and supported by a very large and a very enthuastic crowd. The mentors and the players would like to thank all in attendance…. that fantastic support really helped to get us over the line….’an séú fear déag’! Rock team: Ben Quilter, Donnacha Fox, Ruairí O’Connell, John Feely, Jack Murphy, Joey Nagle, Evan Foley, Armin Heinrick, Shane Bastible, Togor Silong, Conor Horan (captain), Gearóid Kilgallon, James Charles, Jordan Kissane, Noah Townsend.
