PEIL NA gCOLÁISTÍ: It’s that time of year again….students settled into school life, the Rose Festival and the All-Ireland over, shortening days, an odd leaf changing to an autumn colour and….yes….the commencement of the secondary schools’ football season. What lies ahead? Cad atá romhainn ar na páirceanna imeartha? Mouth-watering games, good competitive football, players showing their talent and the striving for silverware! On Friday two town school teams go head to head! We’ll have the clash of CBS The Green and Mounthawk! Buachaillí na Faiche v laochra Chnoc an tSeabhaic! That encounter will take place in our own Connolly Park at 1.30pm.

PEILEADÓIRÍ SINSEARACHA CHIARRAÍ: Our sympathies to our mighty Kerry footballers who were unlucky i bPáirc an Chrócaigh. They gave of their best and we know that they’ll be an even better team next year! Tiocfaidh a seans! Ciarraí go deo! Who’d have said this time last year that they’d reach two national finals?
MNÁ CAMÓGAÍOCHTA NA RÍOCHTA: Is iad mná na camógaíochta a thug corn náisiúnta abhaile go Ciarraí i mbliana. Fair-play dóibh!
WEIGHTLIFTING: Good wishes to Tralee girl, Rachel O’Connor, in her preparations for her forthcoming trip to Canada where she’ll represent Ireland at the International Weightlifting Championships.
