NA MEÁNSCOILEANNA: (i) (a) Peil Faoi 19: The Green CBS boys’ game v Cork’s Coláiste Chríost Rí didn’t take place on the 13th because of a venue mix-up! The game has been rescheduled and will take place this Friday (22nd) at 1.30pm in Fossa. A win will put the Green boys through to a quarter final match in the Munster Colleges Championship (Corn Uí Mhuirí). That fixture would be played tar éis na Nollag. Best wishes to The Rock lads: Armin Heinrich, Lúcás Chester, Ruairí Ó Conaill, Eoghan Ó Cearúill, Cian Puirséil, Conchúr Ó hÓráin, Jordan Ó Cíosáin agus Seán Cuiltéir. Toisc nach mbeidh Scór na nÓg i dTrá Lí i mbliana raghaidh iomaitheoirí ár gclub díreach ar aghaidh go dtí craobh an chontae. Go n-éirí leat, a Ella. Good wishes also to our 4-person Scór na nÓg table quiz team that will represent The Rock in the Kerry county final which will take place at 11.30am on Saturday December 14th in Glenbeigh. The quiz will take place before the stage competitions. The Kerry winners in the quiz competition will go straight to the All-Ireland final. That would be nice! Good luck, lads!
PEIL FAOI 15/16: On Saturday evening last we held our end-of-year medal cermony in the clubhouse to celebrate what can only be described as a ‘super year’ and most of those present recieved no less than four medals. Presentations were made to Division 1 County League winners, Division 1 Central League winners and Division 1 Town League winners. We also presented 2018 Division 1 U15 Town League winners’ medals. (The U15 boys had a long wait for their medals). We were very privileged to have had Wayne Quillinan present on such a special and happy occasion to present the lads with their medals and to give them plenty of advice and encouragement as they progress through the ranks of the Super Rockies. We would like to thank everyone who attended and, on behalf of Ed O’Connor Denis Sayers, Armin Heinrich, Pat Slattery and Éamonn Scanlon, it is appropriate to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of this fantastic group of players. ‘They are a credit to our great club and it has been a pleasure to work with them,’ said Ed O’Connor after the ceremony. ‘We would also like to acknowledge the great support and help received from the parents i rith an tséasúir. Without your help we would not have reached the dizzy heights that we have managed to reach over the last season. So, mórbhuíochas and thanks to each and every one of you.’ Buachaillí buacacha na Carraige: Joey Nagle, Evan Foley, Jack Murphy, Togor Silong, Noah Townsend, Colm Brown, James Charles, Jordan Kissane, Donnacha Sayers, Enda Cahill, Armin Heinrich, Darragh Moriarty, Cian Ó Duilleáin, Donnacha Fox, Shane Bastible, John Feely, Ben Cuiltéir, Gavin Slattery, Cillian Litchfield, Conor Horan, Ruairí O’Connell, Dean Rusk, Caoimhín de Barra, Josh Lynch, Brian Mac Eileagóid, Seán Collins, Gearóid Killgallen, Seán Ó Duagáin, Cadan O’Mahony, Simon Carey, Conchúr Ó Ciarba, Conor Duggan, Michael Tansley.
NEMO: Heartfelt sympathies to Wayne and his team v Nemo i bPáirc Uí Rinn. We all feel their disappointment. Níorbh é lá na Carraige é! We know that Wayne and the players, especialy the younger players, will have learned from the experience and will work to be in a good place next season. We musn’t forget that we are club champions of Kerry and are only a game away from the 2019 league final!! With Conor and Greg at full fitness, The Rock will be able for the best in 2020!
