PEIL FAOI 6 – Our UNDER 6 boys (born in 2013/14) will revert to their Sunday morning base at the Mercy Mounthawk Gym for training agus beidh an traenáil ag tosú ag 11am. We will continue with the indoor season until after Patrick’s Day. All welcome.
PEIL FAOI 8: The UNDER 8s (boys born in 2011/12) will be back to Mercy Mounthawk again for next Sunday morning’s session at 12.00. We’re looking forward to another mighty session and, if you haven’t participated yet, come along to the Mercy Mounthawk Gym on Sunday. Leanfaimid leis na seisiúin faoi dhíon go dtí Lá ‘le Pádraig.
PEIL FAOI 10: Sunday morning activity for the UNDER 10 boys will continue at The Green CBS Astroturf pitch at 11am. Anybody who hasn’t resumed his football activity yet this season or lads who might like to join The Rock will be most welcome.
PEIL FAOI 12: (i) The first trip (of many!) of the new year saw the Rockies displaying their skills against our gracious Cork hosts, Douglas, on the 4G pitch in Páirc Uí Chaoimh last Saturday. Over 30 players travelled and A and B matches were played side by side for almost 90 minutes. Our lads, mar is gnách, produced fantastic performances and were a credit to the Black’n’Amber! McDonalds’ branches around the country now almost know some of the players by name…such is their travelling regularity…and, after enjoying their fare in Killarney, everyone was back in Connolly Park by 5pm. Thanks to all coaches and travelling parents…mórbhuíochas don tacaíocht. (ii) Parents will be notified of training times this week in advance of our first Town League matches against the John Mitchel Club boys. These games will take place in Caherslee on Monday night next at 7pm (a switch from the original date/venue). Contact Liam on 0876189655 for details of training or other activities. SCÓR NA bPÁISTÍ: (i) The Scór na bPáistí (for club members who attend primary school) Tralee area final will be held on Wednesday March 13th in Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn, Ráth Rónáin. Club members may participate in figure dancing, set dancing, rince sean-nóis (individual), ballad group, music group (4 or 5 musicans), recitation/storytelling and sketch. We already have brave volunteers for solo singing and might yet have a quiz team. Bail ó Dhia orthu. (ii) The county semi-finals for North Kerry will be held on Saturday March 23rd at 4pm in St Joseph’s Secondary School, Castleisland. (iii) The semi-finals for the Southern Region will be held on Sunday March 24th ar an bhFaill Mhór ag 2pm. (iv) The county finals, including the QUIZ, have been provisionally fixed for Saturday April 6th in the Glenbeigh Community Centre.
Our U14s will have training as usual in preparation for their upcoming league/championship challenges. This Sunday Feb 25th our U14B team are at home to na Gaeil at 3pm.
OFFICER TRAINING – Coiste na nÓg: (i) Chairpersons, secretaries and public relations officers are invited to attend a training course at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27th February at the Kerry Centre of Excellence (san Ionad Barr Feabhais – V93 A4 N6), Currans. (ii) Officers are invited to attend a Club Leadership Programme (club officer training) at 7.15pm on Tuesday 19th February in the Gleneagle Hotel (Innisfallen Suite), Killarney, if they were unable to attend last week’s course.
FAOI 16: We all look forward to another enjoyable and challenging training session on Sunday morning next. Everybody welcome agus fáilte roimh chách – new as well as all established players. Depending on availability of cars and on tide times, we may head for Banna Beach to do some beach running some Sunday mornings. We had to change our training time due to the unavailability of pitches, etc, and, dá bhrí sin, our training time will now be from 12.00 to 1.15pm every Sunday morning.
