PEIL FAOI 6: Our final outdoor session was a great success and was enjoyed by all the U6 future stars of The Rock. Prior to their exciting Gaelic football super-blitz matches, they were in the vanguard of the dozens of Black’n’Amber jerseyed enthusiastic footballers who proudly marched around Páirc na mBan Rialta to the strains of ‘Fáinne Geal an Lae’. Serious football was played and all went home happy and contented, though a little sad that their season had ended.
PEIL FAOI 7/8: Last Sunday morning’s ‘cup’ games were as exciting as other years. The ability of these boys was a joy to behold. We can expect great ‘Black’n’Amber’ games in the near and distant future. Bhí peil den scoth le feiceáil ar pháirc na himeartha. Up to 520 young footballers will be involved and games will be played on 16 pitches at 2 venues. The organising has been quietly, effectively and efficiently taking place for some time for a major football gathering that’s as important as the Lee Strand Tournament and, ní nach ionadh, many many helpers will be required. Rock St. Post Office Challenge – Martin and Marie Williams of the Rock Post Office have set the Tralee GAA Clubs a task where the club whose supporters make the most transactions in the Rock Post Office from now until April 2020 will win the right to exclusively sell their Club Lotto Tickets there. The personal or work place/business transactions include purchase of stamp booklets, TV or Dog licence, registering a letter, one for all Gift Vouchers, mobile top ups, currency exchange, savings or even purchasing your Christmas stamps. Each transaction is worth points and the club with the most points will win the Lotto Franchise from April 2020. We are circulating transaction points cards to members and these cards are also available to pick up in the Club bar or at the Rock St Post Office counter. If you don’t have a card, not to worry, simply if you are in the Post Office and making a transaction please give your club allegiance at the counter by saying ‘I’m a Rockie’!! and the Post Office will stamp one of the cards they have themselves and the transactions will be credited to Austin Stacks. This won’t cost you a penny but will really help the club as Lotto fundraising represents a large part of our annual club income. Be sure and spread the word to family, friends & employers – I’m A Rockie with every transaction!!
