PEIL FAOI 14: (i) Congrats to our FÉILE boys on having qualified for the county semi-finals! (a) AdeS: 4-8; Laune Rangers: 1-3; (b) AdeS: 2-3; Ballymac: 1-3. Mighty news!! Our Under 14s travelled to Killorglin to face Laune Rangers and Ballymac in phase 1 of Connolly Park, our boys were very determined and were focused on nothing but victory! ’Veni, vedi, vici,’ as Caesar said! From the throw in the Rockies dominated. Armin Heinrich and Dean Rusk bossed midfield. Great credit must go to Liam Carmody who deputised for Ben Quilter in goal. Points from the hardworking Shane Bastible had us in a good position at halftime…1-6 to 0-2. Second half goals from Cillian Lichfield, Evan Foley and Conor Horan left no doubt as to which team was the better. Scór- AdeS: 4-8 Laune Rangers: 1-3. The Rock lads, after minimal rest, faced Ballymac knowing that a victory would see them through to a Féile semi-final qualifier on May 3rd. Ballymac started well and had the upper hand early in the game, scoring 0-2. Good awareness was shown by Evan Foley as he pounced on a breaking ball and slotted in the corner of the net. A point from James Charles had us ahead by 0-2 at half time…1-1 to 0-2. In the second half, as Rock legs were tiring, Joey Nagle and Ruairí O’Connell found another gear and stepped up to drive the team forward. With minutes remaining Armin Heinrich scored one of the finest solo goals one could ever see; he gained possession at midfield, drove forward and, from the edge of the parallelogram, rocketed the ball past the ‘keeper. Scór deiridh- AdeS: 2-3; Ballymac: 1-3. (ii) Traenáil i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile gach Domhnach idir 4pm agus 5.30pm. (iii) ‘Well done’ to Donnacha Sayers who won a national boxing title on Saturday last.
