In the Kerry semi-final and final of Féile Peile na nÓg at Lewis Road, our boys played brilliantly and came out on top (v Crokes in the semi-final and) v Laune Rangers in the final…0-10 to 0-3! They are now training hard so that they’ll be at their best when representing The Kingdom in the National ‘A’ Finals in Ulster. Exciting times ahead for the men of The Rock!
PEIL FAOI 14: (i) In Division 1 of the County League our Under 14As did brilliantly v Ballymac on Wednesday 10th…AdeS A: 3-17; B/mac: 4-7. Our reporter at the game writes: “Still on a high after qualifying for the Féile Peile, our Under 14 boys travelled to Ballymac for round 5 of the County League (Roinn 1). A blistering start saw us lead by 0-14…1-12 to 0-1…after 15 minutes. Our hard working wing forwards, John Feely (0-2) and Gearóid Kilgallen (0-1), contributed greatly. However, Ballymac settled and, having upped a gear, had a run of scores to narrow the gap. The Rock corner backs, Kevin Barry and Brian McElligott, read the game well and began to shut down the Ballymac attack in the second half. Jordan Kissane was a constant threat and scored 3-3. On this occasion our lads were not at their very best but just did enough to sail past the winning post. The victory was ours! Is againne a bhí an bua!” The win gave our lads a ticket to this Wednesday’s semi-final v Kilcummin in Connolly Park at 6.30pm . (ii) In Division 9 of the County League our Under 14Bs gave a good performance at home v Ballymac on Wednesday 10th….AdeS B: 2-11; B/mac: 2-7. Well done, all! That win gave our lads a pass to the semi-final v Crócaigh B. Up The Rock! (iii) BUÍOCHAS MÓR: Thanks to the management and staff of Dunnes Stores, Horan Centre, for allowing us to ‘bag pack’ last Saturday and thanks o all the parents and youngsters who came along to help and support.
