ACADAHM NA gCAILÍNÍ: The Acadamh cailíní had the day off last Sunday due to the Ciarraí v Corcaigh game. Congrats to “Star” and Daniel on a job well done.
FAOI 12: Our Under 12 girls played Glenflesk on Thursday 1st July in what was a fantastic game between two very equal sides. We started the game in flying form with Leanne Hannafin kicking two excellent points; Deborah Mangan staked her claim for a place with a very energetic display in defence. We won the first half but fell behind in the second, finally losing on a scoreline of 3-12 to 3-9. Ochón, ochón! We could not have asked more from these girls; they have shown this year what we have always known…that they are as good as any club team in Kerry! We have all seen how much these girls enjoy playing football and we also have seen a great team spirit being built up. We will hear a lot more of these girls in the next few years. Ar aghaidh linn, a chailíní!
TRAENÁIL ARÍS: Under Eight, Under Ten and Under Twelve girls will be back training at Connolly Park next Sunday, 11th. July, at 10.50am, for more fantastic footballing fun.

BIRTHDAYS: The Acadamh wishes a “breithlá sona sásta” to Emma O’Keeffe who will be ten on Friday 9th July, to Emma Godley who will also ten on Saturday 10th July and to Jenny Godley who will be twelve (déagóir!) on Wednesday 14th July. Gach dea-ghuí, a chailíní!
Men’s Senior Club Championship: Come and support the men against our friends from the Strand Road club on Saturday evening at Austin Stack Park, J.J.Sheehy Road, in the semi-final.
MUMS ACTIVE: (Máithreacha gníomhacha): The Austin Stack Club mums played Moyle Rovers of Tipperary and won…2-4 to 0-1. Maith sibh! Scorers: two goals from Marina and points from Bernie, Niamh and Úna. Happily we had no injuries except for Úna who hurt her finger in the warm-up. Woman-of-the-Game was Caitríona Chester who left nothing past her at centre back. The game took place in Castletownroche before the Ladies’ Munster Final.
FAOI 14: The Under Fourteens are taking a well deserved break for a while until the North Kerry League kicks off in August. However, many have decided to continue training with the U 16s. That’s mind for football…moladh go deo libh!
FAOI 16: The Under Sixteen girls kicked off their County League campaign against Legion in Killarney on Wednesday evening…details next week. And training continues on Monday evenings @ 6:30pm.
SÓISIR: The Junior County Championship for the Austin Stack Club Juniors kicked off last Monday night against Castleisland Desmonds and will continue this Sunday against Castlegregory. The girls have put an awful lot into training and they go into this competition hoping to start the long road back to where we once were…i.e…playing Senior Championship as a club.
SINSIR: Abbey/Stacks Senior Championship: We play our near neighbours, Na hÁghasaigh, in the Senior County Championship next Friday night and it is hoped that this experiment will continue to reap rewards and that the girls will build on their great result against Brown Flesk Rovers. This game should be extremely competitive as the teams are very evenly matched. Lets hope that the girls come through. Good luck to Lisa, Linda, Laura, Breda, Sarah, Marina, Marie Clare and co. Go n-éirí go geal le Mná na Carraige!
