U14 Girls: Town League ‘A’ Final – Austin Stacks 6-5 Kerins O’Rahillys 2-1. Congratulations to Austin Stacks U14 girls who finished the year in great style when they defeated Kerins O’Rahilly’s in the Town League ‘A’ Final last Sat afternoon (27th October) in Ballyrickard. The 1st half was evenly contested with Stacks ahead by just 2 at the break HT Stacks 2-3 KOR 2-1. But Stacks took this game by the scruff of the neck straight from the off in the 2nd half and completely dominated the rest of proceedings. It was a half which their coaches can be immensely proud of as the team supported each other superbly with each and every girl giving 100% for their club. Captain Róise O’Donnell in her acceptance speech thanked Kerins O’Rahilly’s for a very sporting game played in tough conditions. Coaching Course: LGFA Fundamentals coaching course as explained on the LGFA website “Coach Education plays a vital role in organisation and training of teams and should not be undervalued during Games Development planning at the start of the year. All clubs should be ensuring that there is at least 1 qualified (FUNdamentals or Level 1) coach involved with every team in the club. Too often our players are subjected to inappropriate training programmes due to the lack of awareness of current coaching practices. Our coaching courses offer up to date coaching information and every course brings a new challenge for all coaches even the most experienced”. A fundamentals coaching course will be held in Kerry on the 24th November. Austin Stacks Ladies club invite & encourage any of our mentors who feel the course would be beneficial to them to apply. Fee €20 per person which Austin Stacks Ladies Club will pay for any club mentor wishing to attend.
