SEASON’S GREETINGS: We wish all our Members, Supporters and everyone in the local community a very happy 2020.
EXECUTIVE MEETING: The first meeting of our new Executive Committee, under the Chairmanship of newly elected Billy Ryle, will take place in the Clubhouse of this coming Thursday (2nd Jan) at 7.30pm.
GAA SUPPORTERS CLUB: John Joe Sugrue informs us that the Kerry GAA Supporters Club are holding their 30th annual social in Ballygarry House Hotel on Saturday 18th January.
This year they will honour the five Kerry players who have won 8 All Ireland Senior Football Medals – our own Mikey Sheehy and Ger Power, as well as Denis Ogie Moran, Pat Spillane and the late Paidí Ó Sé, who will be represented by his son Pádraig Óg. Tim Moynihan of Radio Kerry will be MC on the night and a drinks reception will take place at 7pm, followed by dinner at 8.30. Music will be by Neilly O’Connor. Tickets, at €35 each, are available from committee members – the aforementioned John Joe (087 6891217), John King (087 1305474) and John O’Connell (087 2965406). So a night of great celebrations which is not to be missed.
WELL DONE: Well done to Seán Quilter who made his Kerry SF debut in Austin Stack Park last Sunday (29th Dec) in the McGrath Cup game against Cork. And Seán was the Kingdom’s chief scorer on the day as well, with a goal and two points.
GAA NATIONAL CLUB DRAW: Austin Stacks GAA has signed up to participate in the GAA’s National Club Draw for 2020. We are asking all club members to sell/purchase National Club draw tickets. Top prize Renault Clio car. €10 each.

CLOTHES RECYCLING COLLECTION: Our Ladies Club have asked that we advise members that they will hold their annual Clothes Recycling Fundraiser at the beginning of February & ask that everyone start collecting in advance. We will accept –Mens, Womens & Childrens Clothing, Household Textiles ie Curtains & Towels, Soft toys, Shoes, Handbags, Belts. We cannot accept duvets or pillows. All items must be clean & dry.
CLUBHOUSE: As always the Clubhouse is available for all types of Parties and Functions. Enquiries about Club Bookings should be made by contacting Harry Hynes at 087 2467286.
Bar opening hours are as follows: 7pm to 12.30am on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, and 12 noon to 11pm on Sundays.
CARDS: The 45 Card Sessions continue in the Clubhouse on every Monday and Thursday nights, commencing at 9.30pm each night.
LOTTO: Last Night’s (30th December) Jackpot, worth €12,850, was not won. The numbers drawn were 16, 22, 26, 29.
The €20 winners were: Lisa Kerins & Group, Mike Hussey and Joe Smith, all c/o Carmel O’Neill; Paul Walsh, c/o The C Team; and Mick Laide, c/o Pa Laide.
Lotto Tickets are on regular sale at the Rock Street Post Office and at the Stacks Clubhouse, as well as from our other regular outlets.
We continue to remind members that we are in competition with other clubs until April 2020 to retain our very important Lotto Franchise at our local post office on Rock St. Every time you are in the post office let Martin and staff know that you are a Rockie and to register your transaction in favour of Austin Stacks. The Club with the most points will win the franchise.
